Welcome!
The Indianapolis Feral Cat Caretakers website is a service of IndyFeral Inc. IndyFeral's mission is to reduce the unowned stray and feral (wild) cat overpopulation through the non-lethal method of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), not trap and kill. (Read more about IndyFeral)
The Indianapolis Feral Cat Caretakers website is a place for colony caretakers in Marion County / Indianapolis Indiana to provide IndyFeral with essential information on the number of cats being cared for, where they live, and how the colonies change over time.
If you are caring for stray or feral cats in Marion County, your participation is very important. The information you provide, in combination with that of other colony caretakers, will allow IndyFeral to:
- Prove Trap-Neuter-Return works by preventing new litters and gradually reducing the size of colonies over time.
In addition to providing information, you have the opportunity to share your story in your own words. Tell us about your colony, the cats that live there, how you have cared for them, the successes you have had, and the challenges you still face.
To begin, click the "New User" link on this page.
Important Note: Use of this site does not register your colony with IndyFeral. You must contact IndyFeral at 317 596-2300 to complete your colony registration.
CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT
All information provided regarding caretaker identity, address and contact information, as well as colony description and location, will be held in strict confidence by the Indianapolis Feral Cat Caretakers and its administrators and will not be disclosed to any other party or organization without express written permission by the caretaker. General data, such as zip code and numbers of cats, may be used for statistical purposes only and never in a manner that would reveal any confidential information.
IndyFeral offers Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) and colony management assistance to people in central Indiana who are providing food and/or other support and care to stray and feral cat colonies (one or more unowned free-roaming cats living together is called a "colony" and the person that cares for the colony is a "caretaker").
Read IndyFeral's colony management guidelines to learn how to properly care for a feral cat colony.
